POSITION SUMMARY:
The Group Benefits Sales Executive sells new business and renews accounts in keeping with agency and individual goals, providing service in support of sales duties and building relationships with clients. Responsibilities include identifying and soliciting sales prospects from various sources/referrals. This role carries the agency’s reputation and professional manner of conducting business into dealings with clients, agency personnel and companies represented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new production to meet or exceed production goals as jointly established with agency owners.
Renew existing business to meet or exceed production goals as jointly established with agency owners.
Develop and expand coverages to existing accounts.
Promote products or carriers that the agency has identified as important.
Follow up on all leads and expiration dates.
Obtain and follow up on information concerning underwriting, claims, and other areas as reasonably requested by agency owners, customer service representatives or company representatives.
Maintain a current level of knowledge on forms and coverage changes through bulletins and circulars.
Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
Keep abreast of selling trends and techniques, and use agency-selling aids to help maintain a competitive status for the agency within the industry.
On Renewals, review the proposals received and consult with the Account Manager making recommendations, suggestions to formalize the final proposal.
Work closely with the Account Manager and/or Benefits Marketing Department to formulate a complete submission.
On accounts that have HRconnection, use the BKB step-by-step integration wizard to update all benefit plans, rates and forms.
Negotiate on behalf of the clients to achieve goals of best benefits for best rates.
Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
College degree or comparable work experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in Group benefit
Florida 2-15 License
Possess communication skills necessary to communicate with clients, companies and prospects concerning Group benefit lines of coverage
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong working knowledge of Brokerage Builder, Broker Briefcase and other ZyWave products.
